Life is Crazy!!

It is true Life is Crazy....

especially mine.

I am happily content for it to be so-but also grateful when I have a moment of silence.

{rare occasion}

It seems that I have started to enjoy photography a little more each day!

I had my first portrait session just last week-such a blast!!

The folks who reviewed my photos really liked them

{so there's hope for me after all... hahaha}

Here is one that I did for an assignment
{those who are on facebook sorry that I am posting this photo again}

Of course, do you think that I saved this photo in my library without the word

Melancholy on it?

Of course I didn't-UGH!!!

So now I have to recreate the picture

and I am not sure that I remember what I did to it

{my eyes are starting to cross..sigh}

Besides that flubber of a no brain moment things have been running smooth.

Today the news was that

Boy Wonder snuck a backpack FULL of toys to school.

Hubby said that he could barely get it to zip up after he pulled out his books for school.

This is what sonny boy said:

"Daddy, Mommy knows that I had this many!!"

So now I would like to know what Mommy is responsible for permitting my son to

take that many toys to school...come on step forward...give me your name...

I know your out there......Boy Wonder has got to be telling the truth...

***
He is really getting into this whole Superman thing!!!

I have no clue where in the world he came up with this new fascination with this "Superman"!

He even asked for glasses to go with his tie so that he could be Clark Kent!

He is hilarious!!

Trains are still his favorite but they are in a tie with Superman for first place....

Honchen comes in second....this is Honchen:
{once again sorry Facebook users-here is another repeat photo}

Boy Wonder likes to make up names-and that is the name he came up with-and he is stickin' to it!

Well, at least this gives you a run down on the action from my side of the world.

I hope yours is sunny and warm and full of delight-just like mine!

Fun At Home and a Keurig Question..

Along with working towards a less whinny attitude

{Boy Wonder not me,good thing there isn't a lightning storm},

Boy Wonder and I made this

YUMMY

Chocolate Covered Pretzels Yesterday....

*******
And here is a question for you:

How sad is it that I buy K-cups for a Keurig?

How about the rest of the story?

I admit I buy K-cups so that I can take it to not one but two,

of my friends houses so that I can have

a great cup of coffee.....so sad isn't it?!!!

So Very Sad......I know it...

Over 1,000 Pictures in two days!!

Hahhahaha-I took over 1,000 pictures yesterday and today!!

1,131 pictures total to be exact!

That is so funny.....I said that I was going to take tons

guess I didn't let anyone down!

I can not wait to show you some of the photos.

Even

my guys were nice enough to pose for a few photos!!
{of course, it included a little eye rolling and a moan or two}

Hubby said that he must REALLY love me since he let me take his photo!

{I might have "broken" a few Photography Rules but, I really enjoyed being in Manual Mode!!}

♥♥♥♥

Tonight is our Winter Banquet at church

so I will be very busy today getting ready for the long weekend

and a few things that need some special attention.

I will try to post pictures very soon-I still have to post my assignments for my photography class....

sigh-how time flies!

I'm an Aunt AGAIN!!! Please Pray for My Niece!!

That would bring my total up to two nieces and one nephew!!

Baby Elizabeth Miriam Holliday

was born last night

7lbs 6 oz{I think} and 19 in at 7:02p.m.!!!

Do pray for her though;
They are going to transfer her to Akron Children's into ICU.

They think that she might have a touch of pneumonia.
&

Elizabeth
keeps vomiting up through her nose and mouth

{I know TMI-sorry-I just thought it is better to know than not to}.

They had issues with the N G O{?} looping back up and
They think that her throat isn't attached to her stomach-or something like that.

At any rate the food that she gets doesn't go to her stomach but to her lungs.

They have an IV feeding her at this moment.
They are not sure if they will need to do surgery to connect her stomach.....

but
this is why they are transferring her to a "better" hospital that deals with this.

My sister-in-law will be released so that Stephen {my brother}and her can go with baby Elizabeth.

If you can keep them in your prayers I would be very appreciative!

100 Ways You Can Love Your Husband HIS Way

HaPpY  ♥  LoVe ♥  DaY!!

I received a very challenging email a few days ago and
I wanted to share it with you.
First off,
when I went through this list
I had a few questions that came to mind:

What would happen if
 I did this challenge?

What is the worst that could happen?

Is it possible that I might find out that
I am not
as loving to my husband as I should be?

Am I humble enough to admit
that I can make a difference in
our marriage?

*♥*♥*♥*♥*

Marriage is very hard!

I speak generally;and I include myself in this:
I try to remember that it takes
two to tango;
and at times it may feel like a tango;
particularly when a disagreement comes up.

We are not perfect but it
is so hard for us{women} to be agreeable at times,
especially when we know that he {that man!} is wrong!
And especially during that
"time of the month"!
Going back to my statement that it takes two to tango;
it takes two to have an arguement.
Do you know why we argue?

The answer can be found here in
Proverbs 13:10a
 "Only by pride cometh contention:"

So, according to Proverbs
Pride is the problem.

If we take a honest look at ourselves we will see that we are prideful.
We want to be right and prove that he is wrong.
We are so sure that we know everything

What does this man know?

Truly the contention is only brought on because two people are being prideful

and each wants their own way-and to be correct.

It is difficult!

But we must strive to bring glory to God through our marraiges.

Remembering that marraige was His idea in the first place.

*♥*♥*♥*♥*

Maybe this list is a step in the right direction;

and maybe it is a Godsent to someone out there

I know that it has encouraged me to strive to be more loving

so that I can be loved more.

We never reach godly perfection but we should strive towards it everyday.

*♥*♥*♥*♥*
Here is the email I received:
(Author Unknown)

Discuss this list with your husband. Ask him to check the ones most meaningful to him and then arrange them in order of importance to him. Use this list as a basis for learning his views. Your relationship can be greatly strengthened as you use these suggestions.

1. Respectfully communicate with him.

2. Let him know he’s important to you.

3. Purposefully try to understand his feelings—even when you disagree with him.

4. Show interest in his friends giving him some time with them if they’re trust-worthy.

5. Let go of the small stuff. We all have annoying habits and preferences that are different from our spouse’s. (Dave Ramsey)

6. Tell him you both love him AND like him.

7. Either show interest in his hobbies or allow him space to participate freely. (Dave Ramsey)

8. Protect his dignity on a daily basis.

9. Be tender with him realizing he has feelings also.

10. Foster an atmosphere of laughter in your home. Look for ways to laugh together.

11. Try not to make sudden major changes without discussion and giving him time to adjust.

12. When you go out on a date together don’t bring up problems—have fun instead.

13. Focus on what he’s doing right, instead of focusing so often on the negatives.

14. Show interest in what he feels is important in life.

15. Give him special time with you apart from the children.

16. Recognize that the first few minutes after a spouse comes home often sets the stage for how the rest of the evening will go. So try to make the first few minutes a positive experience. (And then ease into the negative if it’s necessary.)

17. Give him half an hour to unwind after he gets home from work. Your evenings will be much more enjoyable. (Dave Ramsey)

18. Don’t allow any family member to treat him disrespectfully. Be the one to defend him to any family member that dishonors his place as your husband.

19. Compliment him often.

20. Be creative when you express your love, both in words and in actions.

21. Talk with him about having specific family goals for each year to work on to achieve together so you will both feel closer to each other as a marital team.

22. Don’t over commit yourself. Leave time for him.

23. Extend God’s grace to him and be forgiving when he offends you.

24. Find ways to show him you need him.

25. Give him time to be alone. (This energizes him to reconnect at other times.)

26. Admit your mistakes; don’t be afraid to be humble. Peel away your pride.

27. Defend him to those who disrespectfully talk about him. Remember that love protects (1 Corinthians 13:7).

28. Respect his desire to do well—not his performance.

29. Rub his feet or neck, or scratch his back after a hard day.

30. Take time for the two of you to sit and talk calmly (schedule it when necessary).

31. Initiate going out on romantic outings (when he’s not tired).

32. Email him when he’s at work, telling him how much you love him.

33. Surprise him with a fun gift of some kind that he’d really enjoy.

34. Express how much you appreciate him for working so hard to support the family.

35. Tell him how proud you are of him for who he is (giving him specific reasons).

36. Give advice in a loving way — not in a nagging or belittling way.

37. Help your husband to be the Spiritual head at home (without “lording” it over him).

38. Reserve some energy for him so you’re not so tired when he wants you sexually.

39. Don’t expect him to do projects beyond his natural capabilities.

40. Pray for him to enjoy God’s best in life.

41. Take special notice for what he has done for you and the family.

42. Brag about him to other people both in front of him and even when he’s not there.

43. Share your feelings with him at appropriate times (but keep it brief when he’s tired—sometimes men can feel “flooded” by too many words).

44. Tell him 3 things you specifically appreciate about him.

45. Honor him in front of the children (differ respectfully in private when necessary).

46. Give him time to unwind for a little while after he comes home from work. Arrange ahead of time to take your “time out”, giving him a few minutes with the children.

47. Get up with him, even when he gets up earlier than you want to and pray with him. (Hopefully you can go back to sleep afterwards. If not, it’s a sacrifice worth making.)

48. Be his “help-mate” in whatever ways you sense he needs it.

49. Do some shoulder-to-shoulder activities with him (like watching a movie or taking a drive together) without talking. Sometimes men just like to BE with you and not talk.

50. Be a student of his ways so you show your love in ways he best comprehends it.

51. When your husband is in a bad mood give him time to recover. Don’t crowd him.

52. Help him to finish his goals, hobbies, or education when your see he needs it.

53. Treat him as if God has stamped on his forehead: “Handle With Care.”

54. Work to get rid of habits that annoy him.

55. Be kind and thoughtful to his relatives. Don’t make him choose between you.

56. Don’t compare his relatives with yours in a negative way.

57. Thank him for things he’s done around the house. (It means a lot to men).

58. Don’t expect credit for all you do for him. Do it as “unto the Lord.”

59. Make sure he agrees with everything important that you’re planning to do.

60. Do little things for him— let him sleep in, bring him coffee and/or breakfast in bed, etc.

61. Don’t belittle his intelligence or be cynical in your words with him.

62. Initiate sex periodically. And respond more often.

63. Sometimes let him enjoy his day off work without having to “work” at home.

64. Get to the point in your discussions. Spare him details unless he wants them.

65. Discover his sexual needs.

66. Surprise him with a 15 second kiss when he gets home from work.

67. Wink at him from across the room when you’re out at a group function.

68. Give him the benefit of the doubt when he miss-speaks.

69. Don’t quarrel over words.

70. Be kind and courteous with him. (Don’t be kinder to strangers than to him.)

71. When things go wrong, instead of assessing blame, focus on how to do better.

72. As a kindness, don’t say, “I told you so.”

73. Try not to argue over money. Peacefully discuss future expenditures instead.

74. Take him out on dates—pre-planning all of the details ahead of time.

75. Hold his hand and snuggle up close to him at times both at home and in public.

76. Praise his good decisions; minimize the bad ones.

77. Tell him you love him more often.

78. Put love notes in his pockets and brief case.

79. Sit with him while he’s watching TV—even if the program doesn’t interest you.

80. Don’t expect him to read your mind. (Family’s are spared grief when a husband isn’t required to read their wife’s mind despite the fact that the wife thinks he should.)

81. Periodically, give him time with his family alone.

82. Check with him before you throw away his papers and stuff. (He may view them as more important than you realize.)

83. Work to keep yourself in shape in every way.

84. Let him express himself freely, without fear of being called stupid or illogical.

85. Carefully choose your words. Remember to “speak the truth in LOVE.”

86. Don’t criticize him in front of others—keeping his dignity in tact.

87. Visit his childhood home with him.

88. When you’re angry, express it in respectful ways. Don’t give the silent treatment.

89. Pray for him.

90. Make him homemade soup when he’s sick.

91. Look your best—dress to honor him and make him proud to be seen with you.

92. Support him when someone tries to put him down. Be his best cheer leader.

93. Don’t disagree with him in front of the children.

94. Take him for a weekend get-away without the children.

95. Cheer his successes whether in business or in other areas of everyday living.

96. Graciously teach him how to demonstrate his love for you.

97. Give him coupons to redeem—maybe for a back scratch or a shoulder rub.

98. Buy him a gift certificate to his favorite lunch spot and put it in his wallet.

99. Hide notes for him around the house where only he will find them.

100. Thank him for just being himself.

Scarlet Fever and Step Throat? How about that?!

Well, Boy Wonder is sick with a captiol S-and a I- and a C- and  a K!  He has Strep throat and Scarlet fever.  The meds his doctor gave him seem to have an adverse reaction to him as well-his ears and face are swelling somewhat-I would rather not disclose too much info-but we know what signs to look for if the reaction gets severe.  He had a terrible episode about a year ago-poor thing-he swelled up-got splotches all over-fever-and he cried if you touched him he hurt that bad.  He just sat there and didn't move-we had to carry him everywhere.  It was enough to break my poor heart.  So now we hopefully wont have to deal with that again-I enjoy the extra snuggling I get but hate to see him in pain and not feel well.

I also pray that Hubby don't get it as well-he is preaching on Sunday.  I am suppose to be singing on Sunday as well.  Not sure how that is gonna work since I still have my bass voice right now.  Oh, well-it will be what it will be-worse case senerio I will do a piano special....  I hope everyone has a wonderful day today-enjoy your day!  It may be the last one you will have...we never know when the Lord will call us home.  Cherish the Moment.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Sorry...

I will not be able to post anything today-due to the fact that my Boy Wonder might have Strep Throat-so off to the doctors we go.  Have a wonderful day!!

Sweet Hour of Prayer

SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father's throne
make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter's snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
the joys I feel, the bliss I share
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows his face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
thy wings shall my petition bear
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word, and trust his grace,
I'll cast on him my every care,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

More Fabric?

I am so excited
There is a lady who had a sewing business out of her home
and she is getting rid of her fabrics and items from sewing
I am going to meet her today to look over the items
I really hope that she has a reasonable set of prices
it is second hand fabric
but around here people think that they should get top dollar
for their "used" items....now that is why I don't garage sale to much around here.

People want more than what their junk is worth..hahahahaha.

I can't wait to see what the Lord is gonna bless me with...
now we all know that I NEED more fabric
See I think there is some empty holes in there
 I think there is some
maybe not.....
but who couldn't use more fabric?

Course I tend to run on the phrase:
"Just buy the fabric and ask questions later"

Course, maybe I am not the only one that has their own private
 ♥STASH♥
and this is not all the picture of my stash-just a few ; )

and hopefully I will get a steal of a deal later on tonight:)

Post 300!!! And Anniversary for Me....

It is official!!!
This is post number 300!!
I was racking my brain trying to figure out what special thing I could post for my 300th posting
and I remembered that today is my "Church Anniversary"-I've been here for seven years serving as

Assistant Pastor's Wife!!! Can't believe that the years have flown by like that!

Today at church we had Lynette Carroll come and share her burden for the women in Bangladesh that are abused and abandoned.

She is going to Bangladesh to help Heart House attend to these woman's needs, and to teach them how to sew-and to care for themselves.  She Majored in Apparel, Textiles & Design at Bob Jones.  I really wished that I had the chance to talk to her!  That would of been fun to talk about sewing with someone else!!!
Anyways, she came and played some hymns for us on her harp it was wonderful!  I had the privilege of recording a song that she played:

I hope you enjoyed this-as much as we did:)

♥What a way to spend my Anniversary Sunday:)♥

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Sunday too!!

"My Short Break"

I still do not have time to post yet, I just finished cheater carpet cleaning the living room. Caleb has had a better attitude today. He is taking his nap and he did it without too much fussing. Yes, he still fussed but it was not as much as he usualy does. Today is my Home Blessing Day-usually I do that on Monday but since my parents were here I would rather spend time with them.

Please pray for our family (Holliday side) we are having some serious struggles with some things right now. Just pray that the Lord has his way and he accomplishes what we are hoping he will.

Only 11 days til vacation time!!! Sweetness for sure!!

Does anyone else really enjoy the smell of lemons? I just can not seem to get enough of it!!!I wish it was a perfume, that probably would be my favorite scent! Well, I need to finish Discipleship Homework. I will try to get some time to write here soon.

Love to all from us all!!!

Saturday Again

I still have not had the chance to write another post just yet. Things have been a little bit hectic around here. My parents are coming today to spend a few days with us!! I am so excited!!

Then next week we will be going to Alexandria,Virgina/Washington D.C. (anniversary trip) and then the next day we are going to take our youth group to New York!! Busy,Busy,Busy!! Then in the next week we kinda get a break. Then we will go on vacation with Mom and Dad Cole!!! We did this last year to Florida-it was so cool. I really enjoyed myself and getting to know my "in-law kin" better. We really had fun-I am looking forward to this time around. After that we have Missions Confrence, and then Pastor goes in for surgery and will be six weeks off from work-so we will be pretty busy again-especially Greg! I will be starting to clean up the Christian Life Center again here pretty soon. Well, as soon as I catch my breathe I will be sure to write a little more. You laugh at what happened this past week! Alright, have a wonderful day to all!!! Toodles!
