When my daughter was 5, my husband and I were preparing to go out on a date. I had spent a long time on my hair because I wanted it to look really nice. When I hugged my daughter goodbye, she said, "Mom, do you think your hair looks as bad as I do?" I guess she wasn't used to seeing my hair curled and not in a ponytail.

Hi! Info about me? I've played the piano since I was big enough to crawl onto the piano bench.

nape said...

Family fun? I went with my kids to see a play. The play was lousy, but we had a great time together anyway.

nape said...

I'd love to see features on people's special talents. For example, I marvel at many of the Etsy sellers, that they have such creative ability. It would be fun to know more about them individually, and how they came to do what they do.

I was thinking it was a dull, gray, November day. My daughter, three years old at the time, said, "Why is the sky so tender?"

Quirky thing I do: I'm compulsive about recycling. Even the tiniest scrap of paper has to go into the recycling bag.

flairshare said...

Quirky? Hmmm, which one should I admit to? We name all of our dogs names that begin with the letter 'B'. 1st there was Beau, then Beugot, Buckeye, Bayley and Buoy. Cats and other 'critters' start with 'C', like Coco, Cheddar, Carlos, CJ, Chester, Chewy and Chops. Oh dear, my daughter's name begins with a 'B'...oh well, we blew the streak there didn't we?

10/31 My cats are my kids and lately, they have been sneaking onto the kitchen counter when we are not around (they KNOW they are not supposed to do this!) Just like real children, they do not understand how we "know" and come sneaking up on them to chase them away and scold them! I feel so bad chastising them - you should see the little guilty looks on their faces!

Count Your Blessings is usually one of my favorite songs at this time of year.

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

Refrain

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

Refrain

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

When you are discouraged try it and you will be surprised!

Have a great day!
